Generate a License

In order to be able to use Canvas Editor, you will need a license key.

A license key can be generated from section My Licenses. Important: Section My Licenses is enabled for you only after you create an account.

You can revoke or reconfigure your license key at any time.

If you revoke your license (in order to reconfigure it), the license key will be changed.

What does "number of domains" actualy means, and how does the licensing works?

You don't need a license key when Canvas Editor is loaded under "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" hostnames (for development reasons, of course).

Each time Canvas Editor is loaded, it checks the origin of the document. For example, if you load the editor inside a page of your website at: "https://www.my-company.com/cms/", the domain of your page is "www.my-company.com". A request is made to our DRM (digital rights management) server with your license at a random time interval, to check if you have a subscription active for the software.

In case your subscription expired, Canvas Editor will not render anymore it's content!!!

Some plans allow you to create wildcard domain licenses. This means that you are allowed to use "*.my-company.com", in this case "www.my-company.com", "blog.my-company.com", "testing.my-company.com" domains can be configured with a single wildcard domain.

Read more about DRM

Canvas Editor uses an online DRM system which will disable your component automatically when your subscription ends. If you want to use Canvas Editor on internal websites, you must contact us so that we install a DRM in your internal company network.

We might also consider providing you access to a build which has no DRM built-in, so let's talk.
